IHB Architects is client focused and provides varied professional services including architecture, planning, project management, feasibility and consulting services.

Imad has an impressive list of projects and professional achievements, most of which occurred in Washington State over the last 33 years.  Early in his career, Imad practiced in Southern California during and after attending Cal. State Polytechnic University Pomona, CA, an accredited architecture program there.

Most of his career has been practicing in the Puget Sound region and while practicing with other firms, Imad was the lead architect for the following design excellence awards:

  1. AIA Merit Award, 2004 – UW Tacoma Phase 2B
  2. AGC Construction Excellence Award, 2004– UW Tacoma Phase 2B
  3. Community Excellence Award, 2004 – Mann Elementary School, Redmond, WA
  4. ACI Concrete Excellence Award, 2000 – Renton Transit Center
  5. AIA Honor Award, 1998 – Oak Harbor Transit Center
  6. Community Improvement Award,1996 – Lacey Transit Center

Imad holds a strong personal portfolio of a variety of successful high-value private and public projects in Washington State.  He has been involved in five EB-5 Regional Center planning and design projects within the last 3 years.  Primary relevant projects include large-scale multi-family and mixed-use 5/2 type projects, including planning and design of mid-rise condo/apts, commercial office projects, high-rise projects and large-scale public facilities.  Many include sustainable/high-performance design solutions.

Imad designed and planned an iconic high-rise mixed-use development proposal for Russell Investment’s potential new home search in Tacoma.  He conceptualized and designed this $300M office, retail & apartment high-rise project and assembled an experienced local project team, allowing his proposal to be selected for Round 1 interviews with Russell representatives.

While with another firm, Imad was the primary architect that helped deliver the first successful LEED (Silver) project in UW’s history (UWT’s Phase 2B) and it was the City of Tacoma’s first LEED project as well.  UWT Phase 2B was also a successful GC/CM contract, which Imad represented and managed.  After the project was completed, Imad was invited as a speaker at a University forum, speaking about the pros/cons of the GC/CM process before various UW staff.
