EB-5 Immigrant Investor

The EB5 program was created by the United States Congress through the Immigration Act of 1990. Years later, it still provides an extremely effective way for foreign nationals to obtain a United States Green Card.

Non-residents who wish to become permanent residents of the United States have several options for obtaining a U.S. Green Card. However most, U.S. immigrant visas usually require a close family connection with a U.S. citizen or existing Green Card Holder (permanent resident). Many non-residents simply don't have any close relatives in the United States so that leaves employment-based Green Card options.

One of the employment-based Green Card options is to invest in a Regional Center in the United States that helps the economy by creating new jobs. Through the EB-5 Program non-residents are able to obtain a Green Card as long as 10 direct or indirect jobs are created as a result of their investment in the Regional Center. The investment amount is either $1,800,000 or $900,000 if invested in a targeted high unemployment area.

EB-5 Visa Program and what it means for you?

By investing in a Regional Center Project that has been approved by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS), foreign nationals are able to receive the following benefits:

  1. The Applicant, their husband or wife, and any child under the age of 21 will be able to receive their Green Card under the same Visa Application.
  2. The family can live, work and reside anywhere in the United States even if their EB-5 Investment is in a different location.  There are also no travel restrictions if you wish to visit your native country.
  3. Again you can retire and live anywhere in the United States.
  4. Your children can receive a college education at the same tuition as in-state residents, which is far less than the price for foreign nationals.
  5. Unlike is the case with employment or family based Visas, with the EB-5 Visa Program there is no sponsor required.
  6. After 5 years with your Green Card, you can become a U.S. citizen.
  7. Lastly, you are able to achieve diversification of your investment portfolio in the U.S. by investing in an EB-5 Regional Center.
